Michael Sheinkop is responsible for UGL Equis’ U.S. Brokerage Operations, which includes all real estate professionals engaged in brokerage for 27 offices, as well as all internal recruiting and training initiatives. His primary focus is building, growing and managing UGL Equis’ transaction advisory infrastructure, including recruiting, business development and profitability. In addition, as a member of the executive management team, he leads UGL Equis’ overall efforts to create best-in-class people management programs in order to attract and retain superior talent which ensures the delivery of high quality and comprehensive corporate real estate services with coast-to-coast consistency.

Michael joined UGL Equis in 2002 with 20 years of experience in commercial real estate, including senior management roles with a Fortune 500 owner of commercial real estate. His background includes large-scale portfolio and asset management, mergers and acquisitions, finance and taxation, property management and leasing and development of value-added products and services and their delivery to users of corporate real estate. In addition, Michael has extensive experience with leading edge issues in commercial real estate, including: technology and telecommunications, workplace innovation, alternative media partnerships and opportunities, and just-in-time officing concepts.

Prior to joining UGL Equis, Michael spent 14 years with Equity Office Properties Trust (EOP) in Chicago, most recently as senior vice president. As a member of the senior management team, he helped take the company from a small privately held investment and property management organization to the nation’s largest REIT, including its initial public offering and three public mergers that grew the company fourfold in a four year period. He devised financial reporting systems for strategic planning, asset management and market evaluation, and held operating responsibility for approximately $1.5 billion in profits from real estate operations.

PROJECTS

Currently managing the profit and loss for 27 UGL Equis offices with approximately 200 transaction advisors.

Heavy focus on recruiting in core cities. Since joining has recruited 150 senior and junior brokers.

Building people management programs to train, mentor, compensate, attract and retain top talent.

Went public with EOP in July 1997; managed through three major corporate acquisitions thru 5/2001. At IPO, was the managing executive of half of the entire real estate portfolio.

Built from inception a value-added services brand inside EOP called (Equity Office Access). This business unit grew to $50 million in new revenue in its second year of operation generating a $20 million profit. Analysts acknowledged this initiative as one of the most important corporate developments by a REIT, as a value added strategy to extend the brand and leverage the incumbent customer base.
